Steve Bannon, the executive chairman of Breitbart news and Former Chief Strategist was recently interviewed on CBS news by talk show host Charlie Rose, the topic at hand? Bannon and the GOP. Bannon’s main concern seems to be efforts by the Republican party to undermine itself. Steve Bannon states very early on in his CBS interview, “The Republican Establishment is trying to nullify the 2016 Election.” This statement was made in regards to actions taken by Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and Senator Mitch McConnell. Since the beginning of the election process, the Republican party split between those who were against Donald Trump and those who were for him, and tensions have not gotten any better. According to Bannon’s CBS interview, The original plan was to repeal and replace Obamacare. Bannon tells Charlie Rose that the Trump Administration was given things to get done and when these things should happen, yet the Trump administration still experienced great push back from Congress. Charlie Rose asked Bannon about the removal of DACA and Illegal immigrants to which Bannon responded saying, “There is no path to a citizenship, there is no path to a green card, no amnesty.”

Apparently Steve Bannon doesn’t realize Trump’s current plan for immigration since according to news source The Daily Wire, “the president then made clear that he is working actively to keep Dreamers in the country.” According to a number of news sources he is willing to comply so long as he gets enhanced Border Security, No word on his funding for the wall. This has been backed up by various other news agencies including the LA Times and The Huffington Post.  Steve Bannon’s CBS interview began coming to a close with a mention of the Charlottesville riots and presence of  ANTIFA, White Nationalists, and the White Nationalists’ support of President Trump. Bannon responded to White Nationalism in an interesting matter stating, “It’s a small group, it’s a vicious group, they add no value. The left wing makes them up as some huge part of Trump’s coalition.” Critics note that he is the Chairman for Breitbart news, the media outlet that gave a platform to the Alt-Right in the first place.
