Google Maps

What’s worse than walking around in a huge city like Chicago without knowing where you’re going? Sure, you might have some idea of your surroundings, but should you turn right? Left? Which way is East? West?

Never Fear, Google Maps is here.

An innovative app, Google Maps uses your phone’s positioning services to pinpoint your exact location to help guide you where you need to go. Helpful features include being able to find and track buses and trains near you, and being able to add another destination to help you get from place to place. A recent update to the app helps you find your car in a crowded parking lot says Forbes. “Available this week, the latest Google Maps update will include an option to save your parking location. You can also add details like what level of the parking garage you are on and set notes to remind you to refill the meter” according to Forbes. This innovation will save you tons of time searching for your car after finding that great parking spot.

Unfortunately, those with
Apple Smart Watches will suffer. Recently, Amazon, eBay, and Google dropped their support of the Apple Smart Watches. This pull happened in early April, but Mashable says “we’re only learning this now because it appears a few people actually use (or miss) these apps”.  But as long as you have a smartphone, you can still find your way around using the app.

Outperforming other location services like Bing Maps, Google Maps is certainly the app to use. Whether you don’t know where you parked your car, or traveling in a new place looking like a local, Google Maps will satisfy your location needs.
