Everyone knows McDonald’s as a fast food restaurant, but with the recent additions of their app and kiosks, they’re making fast food even faster!

When you first download the app, you are asked to create an account. You can either do this with an email, or have one connected to your Facebook. “This works pretty conveniently” junion Aja Jones ’18 says, as having options is always better. Next, you are asked to selected a McDonald’s location near you in order to receive deals from that specific restaurant, as most promotions are available at all participating McDonald’s restaurants, but some are location-specific. After choosing your location you are presented with the option to “view your deals” that range from free fries with any purchase to $1 coupons off orders $7 or more, which helps with deciding what you want to eat when you just don’t know. Senior Davia Murray ’17 says “when I don’t know if I want nuggets or a burger, and I have a deal for a free burger but I’d have to pay for a nugget, I just get the burger. The app makes the decision for me!”

Sometimes, scanning promo codes and getting money off helps you both save money and win more money! For example, every time you scan a promo code from 4/25/17 until 5/22/17, you can also enter the Race to Win Sweepstakes in which you may win one of one hundred prize packs, that include one Nintendo Switch™system and one Mario Kart™ 8 Deluxe game pack: “a great deal, because that’s easily $350” informs junior Nintendo expert, Diondre Sweezer ’18.
