What is something the student body may not know about you?

“I am a triplet with an identical twin sister and brother. We are sixty years old. And we are all still living which is rare with multiple births. I also have an older sister. I also am an avid gardener and competitive tennis player on a traveling team.”

What would you do if you weren’t the principal of WY?

“I would be a lawyer. I believe I possess the skills to be a lawyer and I’ve shown those skills through my years as principal here, even though I don’t have the title.”

What is your personal style?

“My personal style is relaxed and comfortable. My style has changed throughout the years though. I used to be very prim and proper, I would never wear pants to work. But now I’m a little bit more relaxed, our society is a little more relaxed. I still like to look professional in front of our students. In high school, my ideal outfit would be something tight. Bell bottom jeans, a nice lace jacket and a tank top probably, with some nice black pumps.”

What is the best part of your day at WY?

“The best part of my day is interacting with students like you. Who are just passionate about what they do. I’m looking at you and you’re dressed the way you want to be dressed, you have the hairstyle you want to have. And people accept you for you. And that’s what I like most about WY. It is a whole environment of different people accepted by everyone else. And if they are not, then their principal is trying to help everyone become more tolerant of who everyone else is.”

What made you want to be a teacher?

“Since I was born, I’ve been a leader. So the natural progression is something that involves student. I can’t cite one specific person or thing that made me want to teach besides maybe my parents. Other than that I just believe I was born to be the principal of WY, I really do. Some people never find that passion, I was lucky that I did and that I found my niche. I was lucky though, I went to a party and met a gentlemen who offered me a job with CPS and it went on from there.”

Favorite subject in school when you were growing up?

“Math. I was just really good at math. I’m still good at math. I married an accountant. The only low grade I ever got was a C in geometry.”

Favorite Movies?

“The Lion King and E.T. I love disney movies.”

What kind of books do you like to read?

“Trash. I should probably read something more educational but it keeps it more interesting when I don’t. A book everyone in high school should read though is The Testimony.”

Favorite Dessert?

“Cheesecake.” (Also said by Future).

Gucci or Goyard?

“I do actually have a Goyard bag. But the most expensive bag I’ve ever purchased was a Gucci bag. I’m not going to tell you the price because it’s embarrassing. I have to say I prefer Gucci because I believe Goyard is more of a trend whereas Gucci will be here forever.”

What’s your middle name?

“Dorsey.”
