Get spooky in the city with these Halloween events

Claire Bentley, Editor-in-Chief

October is a month that brings a lot of fun; Homecoming, football, autumn, and Halloween. Among skyscrapers, busy streets, and different neighborhoods, the city of Chicago offers a plethora of things to do to celebrate Halloween. Here’s how:

DIY shows: Do-it-yourself venues offer a new definition to the term “live music,” especially in Chicago’s vibrant music scene. The usual DIY venue is someone’s house, and musicians are usually local. Whether the music is good or bad, DIY shows are a great way to listen to some cheap tunes, be around people, and for this one you’re expected to show up in costume.

You’ll have to do some digging for the address to the Dollhouse. Check out their page The Dollhouse DIY on Facebook for further information.

This Halloween, pop into the Dollhouse DIY at 8pm for:

The Rocky Horror Picture Show: The Rocky Horror Picture Show came out as a movie in 1975, and with its cult following, will probably never, ever get old. It’s an exciting, interactive experience at the Music Box Theatre, both a movie showing and a performance that tracks the exploits of naïve couple Brad and Janet after they stumble upon the liar of transvestite Dr. Frank-N-Further.
