Q: What would you say has been your defining moment at WY?

A: “It’s hard for me to choose a moment that encompasses my time at WY. This school has nurtured my love for learning and influenced me to be a better person. What stands out are the teachers who have empowered me to act according to my abilities. I became the Production Stage Manager for The Young Company as a sophomore, which is unheard of. I also helped start a club to promote intersectional feminism within our school, Acting for Gender Equality. It has received a lot of backlash from people who don’t understand our goals. At WY, I’ve learned what it’s like to fail. Tests and homework can pile up and seem overwhelming at times. Most importantly, though, I’ve learned how to keep trying.”
