Baseball Update

The WY baseball team has gotten off to a rough start.

“The team isn’t in a bad position; we just aren’t where we want to be right now,” said Arty Chaet ‘15.

The spring trip to Georgia sparked a change in the season. With a 15 hour bus ride and no AC in 95 degree weather the team was forced to bond together. In Georgia they went 2-2, losing their first two and winning the last two. The team itself is filled with talent. Many of the seniors are continuing to play baseball at the college level. David Craan will continue playing at University of Illinois, Andy Hayes at Macalester College, Jonathan Eng at NYU, Justin Lo at University of Chicago, and Travis Hank at MIT.

“We have the talent and skill, now we just need to harness them and win some playoff games,” said David Craan ’15.

The team often has to travel long distances to play suburban teams, but they look forward to inner city games like Lane Tech and Morgan Park to get a better sense of who is in the way of the city championship title.IMG_0972 (1)
