Cost effective Valentines Day activities

Valentines Day is the day to celebrate love and your significant other. This Valentines try to do something new to celebrate and make it a day to remember. Here are a few ideas to really kick your Vday up a notch without breaking your wallet.

1. Give your significant other a dozen roses. On each stem attach a note for a future date—to do something that she would enjoy (example: Go to see her favorite artist in concert).

2. Take your sweetie on a scavenger hunt. Ask him/her to answer riddles to find the clues to items that you placed somewhere around town. The last item should give instructions that lead to your Valentine’s Day activities.

3. The new Maggie Daley Ice Rink is up and running so surprise her with a trip to go ice skating and then sip on hot cocoa afterwards to keep the day intimate.

4. Make a cute dinner for him/her. Find out when he or she like the most and make or order a special dinner of all of their favorites it will be casual while still putting in the effort.

5. Get all of there favorite candies and sweets and write a thing you love about them along with everyone of them. Then surprise them with a movie night and as they open a snack they get to read about how much you really care about them.pic

Now while Valentines Day is for the in love it doesn’t mean you can’t do anything while single.  Get together with all of your single friends because there is nothing worse than spending this day of love alone. Try some group activities that are fun and cost effective.

1. Go out to dinner together. Make it a girls night out or a group date and split the tab. Just because you are not having a romantic dinner does not mean you can’t eat well and look nice on Valentines day!

2. Group bowling is a fun activity that is cheap and fun for all. You can even involve your coupled friends by making a couple team and a singles team and seeing which team can get the highest group score.

3. Lonely hearts parties may be cliche but they are a great way to spend your day as a single. Surround yourself with the friends you truly love and spend the night competing in board and video games, pizza making and broken heart cookie frosting.

Just because Valentines Day is about showing how much you care about the people you love it does not mean you have to spend all of your money. Do something creative for your significant other or get a group of singles together to have a good time. Surrounding yourself with the people you care about is really what the day is about anyway.
