Energize yourself without caffeine

Many people dread when their alarm goes off in the morning. They drag themselves out of bed, eat breakfast, get ready and then rush out of our doors to school. This is all done with so little energy that half the time we have no idea what we just did. Here are some ways to have a more energetic morning and to help you get a good start to your long day, without the unhealthy additives in caffeine.

Eat an apple in the morning. It gives you the carbohydrate energy that makes your jump-start to the day even better than coffee does. Plus, the fructose in an apple takes longer to digest so you’ll feel the energetic effects longer.

Watch or listen to comedy. Laughing wakes you up. Just think of the comedian that makes you laugh and listen to one of their comedic scenes on your ride to school.

Sleep 15 minutes earlier each night for at least two weeks. This is the best way to ensure your fatigue isn’t overwhelming. Psychologically known as the only way to “catch up on sleep”

Take a cold shower during a break from your studying. The cold water wakes up your pores whereas warm water makes your brain feel comfortable and soothed (aka ready to sleep.) One cold splash will awake your brain into functioning mode.

Snack with protein filled foods during breakfast and throughout the day because they are filled with amino acids and neurotransmitters that will make you feel alert and energetic.

Blast pump up music so you can dance around and get your blood flowing, shaking you from your tired daze.
