Faculty changes at WY

A new semester brings changes to WY’s faculty. As some members of WY leave, the administration is working to bring in replacements.

Programmer Ann Marie Sherry left WY earlier this year to pursue personal interests. Since her departure, attendance coordinator Marianne Stojak has been serving as the interim programmer.

Stojak will continue programmer duties until second semester when WY will welcome the new programmer, Vita Harris. Harris came from Corliss High School where she was a programmer and English teacher.

Because second semester is when programming for the 2015-2016 school year will begin, principal Joyce Kenner said that they wanted to make sure they hired someone with prior programming experience.

English teacher Porscha Henderson also has left WY. Administration is still in the process of selecting a new English teacher, but until then Melissa Fett, substitute and certified English teacher, is assuming her classes.

Kenner said that in a high school, changes are always expected.

“We always have it under control,” said Kenner.
