Black Friday offers many holiday shopping deals, but they only come to those who are willing to deal with  crowds and craziness. Here are some tips to help you get the best deals this Black Friday.

Get an early start.
When a store advertises that they’re opening at 4 a.m., doors really do open that early. If you’ve been eyeing a certain item for a while, try to be there even earlier so that you won’t have to fight someone for it when the doors open.

Dress sensibly.
Ladies, this is not the time to break out the six inch pumps or skinny jeans you can barely breathe in. You will be walking (or running) the entire time, so you will want to be comfortable while shopping, especially when other shoppers are stepping on your feet.

Compare prices before you head out.
Shop around to see what the average retail price of an item is before you leave so that you can go to the store offering the best deal. Also make sure to check to see what comes packaged with the item you are looking for.

Browse the deals before you go.
Knowing which retailers are going to have what on sale and when  will help you decide where you want to shop. It will help with budgeting. Before you go shopping, make a list with each product, who it’s for, the price, the location, and any special hours for the sale to stay well organized day-of.

Be courteous.
Every year, at least one crazed rush of shoppers makes headlines for mobbing a door when it opens. Don’t be that headline; be safe and courteous to employees and other shoppers when entering the building.

Be quick and efficient.
If you can, try to get your items quickly and efficiently so that you can get in line as soon as possible. For the first few minutes of a store’s opening, the registers tend to be empty. Past then, lines have the potential to wrap around the entire store – particularly at Best Buy, Toys ‘R Us, and Wal-Mart.

Go to a familiar store.
Go to a store you know. If you’re familiar with the layout, you’re more likely to find items quickly. If not, visit ahead — a little research can go a long way.

Plan ahead.
Make your decisions before the doors open and don’t stray away from the game plan in the store. While everyone else is deciding which dollar DVDs they want, you can speed-walk to electronics for that flat screen TV.
