WY open house huge success

This year’s open house had a large turnout on Sunday, Oct. 19. There were an estimated 900 attendees for the AC open house and 4,000 for the HS open house that followed.

The event began with a presentation in either the theater or gym, followed by a tour of WY given by our students, where the guests heard presentations and watched performances by some of WY’s finest teachers and students.

WY had the largest number of parent and student volunteers this year which also allowed for a better organization of events, according to assistant principal Melvin Soto.

“This was probably our most organized open house to date,” says Soto.

He also attributes organization to Augustina Bottari, WY admissions director and counselor. She is responsible for many components of the event.
