Best DubTV Segment of All Time

When I came to Whitney Young, as a freshman, I hadn’t a clue what DubTV was. One day, my division teacher turned off the lights and said, “Everybody be quiet.” Then he turned on the projector and the show began. I was confused, but intrigued. As the show went on, I got more and more sucked into it. It was funny, creative, and had zeitgeist. I didn’t know much about this magical thing called DubTV, but I knew I wanted to be a part of it some day. And, here I am. 

I love everything about DubTV. But, there was one show in particular that I loved which made me want to get involved. That show was Tasty Terik. It was everything that a 14 year old boy could’ve asked for in a show. It was funny, non-realistic, and even somewhat destructive. In my opinion, it’s the best DubTV segment of all time. Nothing I have seen since I started watching the show has come close to the hilarious antics of Terik Priest on his cooking show Tasty Terik. That’s why I was in shock when Mr. Rehak told me, “Terik didn’t win any dubbies that year, and hasn’t won a snubby since then.” I would be remiss not to write this article about his segment now, for my class is the last one that will have seen his show air. Hopefully someone will read this one day, go back and watch the awe inspiring videos of Tasty Terik, and vote for him to win a well deserved snubby. To me it seems unjust for people not to know about this great segment. I remember like it was yesterday when me and my locker partner, Ethan Davis, would talk about the show after division and he’d say, “Terik’s show is definitely the funniest DubTV show.” He was like a real life celebrity. Whenever my friends and I saw him around school we’d whisper to each other, “That’s him.” Even DubTV’s own Kimmy Vu-Smith couldn’t believe he didn’t win an award saying, “Really? Tasty Terik was my favorite show.” He had a way of knowing exactly what his audience wanted to see. From smashing bananas and fruit and somehow turning them into gourmet foods, to hitting us with some hilarious one-liners, he always knew.

So, to whom it may concern, please revisit the DubTV video gallery and watch season 5 to see the greatness that lies in the segment Tasty Terik.
