Super Bowl Preview

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will become the first team to compete for a Super Bowl title in its home stadium. Super Bowl LV will be played on Feb. 7 at the Buccaneers’ Raymond James Stadium against the AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs. This matchup is the culmination of some of the season’s best storylines and looks to be shaping up to be a great game.

Super Bowl LV: Chiefs vs. Buccaneers

When: Sunday, Feb. 7 at 6:30 p.m. ET on CBS

Where: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa Bay, Florida

Vegas line: Chiefs -3 (O/U 57)

This is one of the most hyped super bowls in history with two of the league’s top 5 offenses squaring off to win the Lombardi Trophy. With covid-19 raging across the nation this game I project to be the most-watched super bowl in history. With everyone at home, this game could bring some much-needed levity to these difficult times.

How the Chiefs win: The game plan for the chiefs seems to be a lot more straightforward than that of the Buccaneers. The Chiefs just have to play their brand of football by letting Patrick Mahomes, the best QB in the game run the offense and score almost every drive. If they can turn this game into a track meet the Buccaneers have no chance.

How the Bucs win: The Buccaneers have two paths to victory. On the one hand, they’re going to need to execute a heroic Bowles game plan and slow down Mahomes in a way that almost no other opponent has in the past three seasons. On the other hand, to win a massive shootout. We’re talking about a 45-40 game type. They can do it, and the Chiefs’ defense is capable of allowing it to happen.

My prediction: The chiefs win 35 to 28 and Mahomes wins his second Super Bowl MVP. Paxton Ferencak ‘21 agrees with me and thinks “the Chiefs win by at least three most likely more”. Of all the people I asked they all said the Chiefs should win but an interesting trend occurred while these people believed the Chiefs will win they all said they will be rooting for the Buccaneers. Richard Kim ‘21 Said, I feel the Chiefs are gonna win, But I hope Brady does”. Leo Furr ‘22 added to that, “If he [Tom Brady] gets another ring in Tampa that would make him the undisputed G.O.A.T (greatest of all time)”
