Capitol Riot

I decided to interview three members of my family to see how Capitol Riot impacted their lives. The first question I asked was to my godfather Tony Chacon.

“What is your opinion about what happened in the capitol building on January 6th?”

He said, “it was very unnecessary, they were never going to accomplish anything.”

“How does it make you feel? What happened in the capitol building? Do you think our government could have prevented what happened? Why or Why not?”

He said “The government was not prepared for this.  The protestors came to the capitol building from another protest.  Yes as soon as they saw it getting out of control they should have acted but you have too many people in the government arguing with each other to make the right decisions to protect its members and the people protesting.”

“What do you think could have been done differently? Why or Why not?”

He said “I think they should have made the call to mobilize the national guard as a show of force and try to get that crowd under control.”

The second person I asked was my dad, Anthony Muniz.

“What is your opinion about what happened in the capitol building on January 6th?”

He said, “It was horrible. People died. Out of my whole life, I never seen something like that. Very bad time in America”

“How does it make you feel? Do you think our government could have prevented what happened in the capitol building? Why or Why not?”

He said, “Makes me feel like our country is divided. I do believe it could have been prevented. They could’ve had the National Guard already ready, knowing that our president was  saying crazy stuff along with his allies.”

“What do you think could have been done differently? Why or Why not?”

He said, “I believe it could’ve been done differently. If our president would have spoken out and acknowledged that he lost and not come up with these lies that he was telling his followers. Words matter, especially coming from our president.

The third  person I asked was my mom, Cristle Casiano.

“What is your opinion about what happened in the capitol building on January 6th?”

She noted, “ My opinion is that what happened in the capitol was very inappropriate and people need to respect the capitol and respect property and private property as well.”

“How does it make you feel? Do you think our government could have prevented what

happened in the capitol building? Why or Why not?”

She responded, “what happened does not affect my feelings but I know it is not right. I think that more. Surveillance is needed in the capitol building happening. I think this is needed to avoid people getting hurt unnecessarily.”

“What do you think could have been done differently? Why or Why not?”

She answered,, “ I think that what happened was a planned agenda but something that is kept private and confidential like a date might have not gotten hurt.”

So, clearly, I agree with my family about the Capitol Riot of January 6th, 2020. This is very unnecessary that the Trump supporters broke in the capitol building.
