During these Pandemic days I’m sure that we haven’t all been the healthiest, and we might have all taken on a few pounds. I’m here to tell you a little about making a few more healthy choices. “Making the healthy choice at the start of your day can help you at the end of your day,” said Whitney Young senior Madison Tate ‘21. I believe that to be your best self you have to treat your body right and it all starts with a nice diet. Just for beginners starting the day with a little more fruit in the morning can give you minerals, vitamins, and provide a wide range of health-boosting antioxidants. I am here to show you 10 of my favorite fruits that you can add to your diet and how they can help you while you are stuck in the house.

  1. Strawberries
    1. Packed with vitamins, fiber, and particularly high levels of antioxidants these can help boost your day and they are delicious. 
  2. Pineapple
    1. “Pineapples are definitely my favorite fruit,” said Whitney Young Sophomore Alyssa Valles 22.’ They are great and filled with things to boost your immune system.
  3. Kiwi
    1. An amazing way to start your day is with a kiwi it can be sweet or sour and have vitamin C that you need. 
  4. Grapes
    1. Has lots of antioxidants and nutrients that overall boost your immune system. My personal favorites are green grapes. 
  5. Blueberries
    1. These small berries boost your heart health and brain function throughout the day and are yummy in your tummy. 
  6. Raspberries
    1. It’s in the berry family and has antioxidants and fibers. These berries are in the rose family of plants and having raspberries everyday can curb your weight gain. 
  7. Oranges
    1. Oranges are packed with fiber, vitamin C, and potassium, not to mention the great taste and great smell.
  8. Watermelon
    1. Watermelon like part of its name helps hydrate, improves your heart health, and tends to soreness in your body. 
  9. Mango
    1. A sweet mango can carry you a long way with it’s immunity health, eye health, and digestive health. 
  10. Bananas 
    1. “I basically have a banana everyday. I love them,” said Aj Williams 21’ senior at Whitney Young. Packed with high levels of fiber and healthy fats to make you full longer. 

These everyday healthy choices make for a better, longer, and happier life. Your body needs to be taken care of especially in times like this. In any case fruits to me are a necessity they taste good and are good for you and your diet.
