No Pants on the Red Line

Chicago is a very busy city, and its multiple train lines are the main constant basis of transportation for thousands of Chicagoans. On January 12 however, riders may have been surprised when stumbling across hundreds of participants of an annual celebration that takes place in the red line, the busiest train line in Chicago, and what were these riders wearing? Well definitely not pants. Participants sported bare legs of all sizes and colors. They claim that the event has no point other than just “absurdity for absurdity’s sake”.

Whitney Young High School students had generally positive reactions towards the event, Gayun, ‘20, said “it’s strange but honestly people find their own ways of expressing themselves, personally I wouldn’t do it but I’d be glad to support everyone else. Zadrain, ‘21, said “it’s kind of weird what people can come up with, reminds me of all the Facebook events that would be organized such as the Raid Area 51 one, I didn’t expect anyone to show up to that but they did, so it doesn’t surprise me that this “no pants” thing happened. In the end, however, maybe, as Nico, ‘21, simply said, “pants are overrated anyway.” Let’s see what piece of clothing Chicagoan remove next year.
