On Wednesday, December 18, 2019, our very own Whitney Young Magnet High School held our annual Holiday Show. All the performing arts programs participated and performed Christmas tunes. Tea Patterson,’20, exclaimed, “It was cute. It was really cool to see all the art programs performing together like a big family.” The guitar program, choir, orchestra, the band program, Guys and Dolls, and the piano program all performed with their own individual set. The guitar program had their Blues combo perform while the band program had their Jazz band perform.

At the end of the show, the performing arts all bonded together to perform Sleigh Ride. Micah Mixon,’21, said, “I thought the band was really good. Mr.Barbick is a really good conductor for “Sleigh Ride” and made it go smoothly. I also like how they do that thing where someone loses their seat so Mr.Barbick can have a seat.” It is safe to say that the audience enjoyed the show.

Drummer Ellis W.G,’23 said, “I only saw half of it, but from what I saw, it was a great show that put Christmas music in so many genres.” Blues combo performed Otis Redding, choir sang Latin songs, the piano program did Trepak, and many other tunes. Make sure you go see the Annual Holiday Show next year!!
