Goals for the Semester

Goals+for+the+Semester

As the first quarter came to an end, students began to understand that half of the first semester is up as well. Seniors wrapped up early college applications and those who needed to submit those grades for early deadlines hopefully pushed for the grades they desired. Knowing that the semester is already halfway done, the Beacon  is intrigued to know what everyone wants out of this first semester or what they expect from themselves.

So we asked them this: What goals have you set for yourself this quarter considering it’s the last

quarter for the first semester?

“I would like to get closer to my goal score on the ACT and get straight As this semester because as a junior this year is highly emphasized for college admissions,” expressed Zora Kresak-Kiaer, ‘21. A lot of juniors will start experiencing the pressures of securing their future this year considering it’s their second to last year. We wish Zora the best.

“Personally, I really want to have a lot of fun and make the most of this year before school starts to hit like a truck. I definitely want to branch out more both inside and outside of my class here,” responded Sherye Kam, ‘22. I think it’s important we realized that these four years are supposed to be a wonderful time to explore socially and find out interests.

Hopefully everyone has Sherye’s mindset.

“My goal is to learn the ropes of my new school and get to know new people as well as not fail AP Human Geography which is really stressing me out,” exclaimed Debbie Mojekwu, ‘23. Obviously being a freshman at a new school can come with challenges but getting through them will feel like an accomplishment.

Well, it seems as though people are in a set path to lead them to a successful first semester of the 2019-2020 school year!  Good luck to everyone as the year moves on.
