Girls Just Want to Have Funds

Girls Just Want to Have Funds

Notice anything different around the school? If you’re keeping your head up all the time, as you should, you would notice that new ceiling tiles and lights were installed. Or, if you listen closely, you will notice that we received a new PA System to hear Dr. Kenner’s beautiful voice in the morning. But what about the girl’s bathroom not having mirrors or the soap dispensers being empty half of the time. Alexia Henderson ‘21 says, “I mean we could do things like find the girls bathroom new seats, or help the arts building not be freezing but new cubicles are very essential, please note my sarcasm.” Recently, as well, one of the sections of the teacher’s cubicle was remodeled. In its defense, it was falling down. But that’s the point, why wasn’t it prioritized as a renovation. “Although money should go to getting other things I think the cubicles were due for a change. If we had to go to school and work at broken desks we wouldn’t want to do anything and I think the same applies for teachers, it boosts their performance when working in a nice spot”, Kiara Vega ‘20 says. Elana Nevins ‘21 seconds this by saying, “I get that it’s nice for the teacher to get upgrades but there’s so many parts of the school that are used a lot more and definitely need some more love.” Obviously, the main problem is that there is too much to make look pretty and they are all things that are hard to prioritize.  We have spent at least 4.8 million on renovations and additions already. Will we have any money after they are all done? Only time will tell.
