Homecoming week. This is a time when the school finally lets loose and everyone is comfortable and all the kids know their place. The seniors have adjusted their school life with college applications. The juniors are following their normal high school routine, but this time around they have to study for standardized tests, which is a very controversial topic today, as well as knowing that they have to keep their grades up to be able to look great for college. The sophomores and freshmen are both getting into the swing of things; they know that they have to excel so that they won’t regret it in the future. Homecoming week brings out the wild side in people, the kids who were once quiet are yelling at the top of their lungs, and everyone can let loose for a bit. This whole week, homecoming week leads to two special events: the homecoming game and the homecoming dance. A lot of people look forward to these events because they are some of the few times the school comes together and it allows everyone to have a little break from school. This whole week is meant to be fun. To have the seniors let loose and enjoy their last ride. To let the juniors have a break from studying and from stressing over the year. This week helps introduce, officially, the freshmen and sophomores to the school and is a fun experience that everyone should be a part of. 

Jeffrey Hudson, ‘20, said, “Homecoming week, spirit week, is fun. It allows me to have time with my friends and now that I’m a senior I have an incentive to get wilder.”

Alexa Magana, ‘21, replied, “Homecoming is pretty fun. I enjoy dressing up and having a great time with my friends and this week allows more of that, which makes it fun and great for me.”

Zach Makowski, ‘22, states, “This week is pretty chill. I’m enjoying it and can’t wait for more. The game is a fun time to be with friends and have a good laugh.” I hope everyone enjoyed their week and have played it safe.
