Team USA won the 2014 FIBA World Cup for the second consecutive year, after beating Serbia 129-92.  Team USA wasn’t projected to win once major players like Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook rejected the invitation because of a fear of possible injury. Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers was named team MVP after helping the USA capture the title of being undefeated 9-0. The tournament was played  at the Palacio de los Deportes de la Communidad arena in Brazil.
