Halloween isn’t as exciting as it used to be.  Maybe it’s because we’re getting older or maybe it’s because times have changed.  Trick or treating just isn’t as fun as it used to be. Dressing up isn’t as fun either.  Most students at Whitney Young didn’t even bother dressing up.
     Sebastian Lobato ‘20 says they, “ ..don’t have time to go trick or treating anymore”
Some teachers assign work due November 1 which limits your Halloween time. In addition, many seniors are pushing through and focused on stuff like applying to college.
     Alondra Velazquez ‘19 claims that, “ School kills the vibe”
The few fun things you can do for Halloween are limited to things like expensive haunted houses and Fright Fest at Six Flags.  It seems the simple things like watching movies like Hocus Pocus and scary movies with your family and friends just isn’t cutting it anymore.
     Taylor Knight ’19 states, “ It’s always been lame to me but now since we have the internet nobody goes out anymore”
     November 1 is now filled with people giving away candy they don’t really want and bought at the store for 70% off.  The magic of Halloween just isn’t there anymore. Could it ever make a comeback? What do you think?
