Whitney Young Girls Basketball will be playing in their first game of the season November 27, 2018. The girls have been practicing very hard and relentlessly all of November to prepare for this day. Coming off a loss to Benet Academy in the sectional finals last year, the Dolphins are excited to start back up and redeem themselves. Their games will be very competitive and fun to watch, so do not worry about being bored.

The Girls Basketball Team here at Young is bigger and better than they were last year. They have two new additions to the team: Kennedy Harrell and Nadia Swansey. Kennedy Harrell ‘20 says “I love Whitney Young already and I’m so excited to be here with the girls. Our team is looking pretty good so I hope we see some student support in the stands.” Nadia Swansey ‘22 says “Coming into highschool has been a hard transition for me but the team has made it a lot easier. I’ve been working really hard to balance my school with sports and I hope that people come out to see all the hard work we’ve put in.” Caneka Davis, a staff member and assistant coach here at Whitney Young also had some comments on the upcoming season. She says “The girls have been in the gym putting in work everyday, and I have too. I think we have a really great team this year that is worth seeing.”
