Student Profile: Jack Meyer

An icon, circa 2014.

On a dark and stormy night in Chicago–October 1st, 1998–with the wind howling and the waves crashing onto the frigid pavement of Lake Shore Drive, one Jack Burnside Meyer Jr. made his debut in the universe. From that moment forth, the world would never be the same.

WY’s very own Jack Meyer ‘17 is quite the interesting student. From writing his own short stories to being the lead guitarist in a band of his own creation, he doesn’t have a lot of time to spare, but he does take the time to share words of wisdom to his fans. “The most important thing I’ve learned about life is to be yourself, everyone else is already taken,” he shared. Meyer will certainly be himself at the upcoming concert of his band, Third Rail. “They’re such a great band. I’m really excited for the concert,” says Zoe Strong ‘17. Tickets for the Third Rail are on sale now and available for $10. “Come find me, and I’ll be happy to sell you a ticket,” urges Meyer.

Jack Meyer is just another example of a Whitney Young student who is able to find success in multiple domains. Stay tuned, because one day you may see Jack Meyer’s name in your local bookstore or headlining a stadium tour!
