You should definitely come to the WY Dance Department’s Spring Show Rise Up! The show will be May 19th at 7pm and May 20th  at 2pm and 7pm in the Whitney Young theater.

We’ve worked really hard

Every class period has been working on their piece for about two months now. There is also a numerous amount of pieces that have kept dancers after school for additional rehearsals. director of dance, Ms. G proclaimed “I am in show mode, which means you all have to get into show mode too; get your minds and bodies right!”

Support the seniors in our last show

The class of 2017 has many students in the dance department. Most of them have been in dance since freshman year and some have been a part of the department since 7th grade.  Gabi Saul ‘17 said “We will not hold anything back in these final performances.”

You won’t be disappointed

With dances created by the director of the department; Jeanette Gordon, WY and Poms Alumni; Jakala Collins, and WY and Guys and Dolls Alumni; Jada Cunningham there is a variety of styles, there’s something for everyone.

Support the entire dance department

The Whitney Young community is known to support each other, through guitar concerts, plays, basketball games;  the dolphin pride is there so it should continue with the support of the dance department.

We all know the dance shows are amazing and if you haven’t experienced it for yourself, you’ve heard about it.

The show is approaching very quickly but the dancers are ready and excited. Don’t forget; May 19th at 7pm and May 20th at 7pm. We’ll see you there!!
